Section Head, Pediatric Allergy and Immunology

The Department of Pediatrics and Child Health, Max Rady College of Medince, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba and the Child Health Program, Winnipeg Regional Health Authority, is seeking a pediatric allergist/immunologist as Head of the Section of Pediatric Allergy & Clinical Immunology, which provides services to children in a major tertiary care facility. A potential component of the available position is the Department of Pediatrics Endowed Research Chair in Allergy, Asthma and the Environment.

The Department of Pediatrics and Child Health is comprised of more than 90 geographical full-time physicians representing all Pediatric Subspecialties, as well as with 6 full time PhD Scientists and many more primary affiliated Faculty Members. The Pediatric Allergy and Clinical Immunology Program is highly regarded nationally and internationally for excellence in patient care, education and research.  An integral part of the research programming of the Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba (CHRIM), it has a strong reputation for inter-disciplinary research with other Pediatric Specialties, Basic Science Departments and the Department of Community Health Sciences.

The Department of Pediatrics and the Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba are collaborating to recruit a leader and expert to the Section of Pediatric Allergy and Clinical Immunology.  The available position is a geographical full-time contingent appointment at a rank and salary commensurate with experience and qualifications, accompanied with a strong benefits package.  Physicians may be eligible for a recruitment incentive.  Please contact for further information. 

Applicants must be certified in Pediatrics and certified in, or eligible for certification in Allergy and Clinical Immunology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.  Candidates must be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba.  The ideal candidate possesses a strong affinity and track record in leadership and research. A strong track record in clinical services and leadership roles may be considered.
