Pediatric Immunology and Allergy

The Department of Pediatrics and Child Health at the Winnipeg Children’s Hospital, University of Manitoba, invites applications for a locum position, flexible term, within the Section of Pediatric Allergy and Clinical Immunology.

Qualifications include an MD or equivalent, certification in pediatrics and/or Allergy/Immunology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, completion of subspecialty training in Clinical Allergy and Immunology, and eligibility for medical licensure in the Province of Manitoba. Experience and expertise in pediatric primary immunodeficiency is preferred.  Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The Winnipeg Children’s Hospital serves the residents of Manitoba, northwestern Ontario and southeastern Saskatchewan, a catchment area of over 1.5 million people. The hospital offers a unique experience to serve remote, rural and urban residents of this region. Clinical outreach activities are a priority of the Section of Endocrinology and Metabolism. The Section is composed of an inter-professional team of physicians, nurses, dieticians, a social worker and administrators and follows more than 700 children with diabetes and 800 children with endocrine disorders per year. 

The Department of Pediatrics and Child Health is comprised of more than 90 geographical full-time physicians representing all Pediatric Subspecialties, as well as with 6 full time PhD Scientists and many more primary affiliated Faculty Members. The Endocrinology Section is highly regarded for excellence in patient care, education and research. Research and continuing education are an integral part of the program, that has a strong reputation for inter-disciplinary collaboration and patient centered care.
