A "Model of Care" broadly defines the way health services are delivered by the right people, at the right time and in the right place. As hospital clinical services shift starting this fall, the WRHA will begin grouping patients with similar acuity and care needs together in new units. This requires a change in staffing models, to provide the right number and mix of staff to deliver care. The right staffing model is essential to deliver consistent, quality care to specific patient populations.
Through standardization we will be able to better measure our performance and the impact of staffing models on the quality of care.
