Celebrating Allied Health Professionals’ Week

Hi Everyone,

Every May, we take time to recognize and celebrate the dozens of health professions that make up our allied health teams. This week, May 11-17, marks Allied Health Professionals’ Week, as proclaimed by the Manitoba government. Allied Health Professionals are a critical component of the health care system, and we want to take a moment to acknowledge your hard work and dedication.

From Audiologists to Vascular Technologists, and all the professions in between, these professionals are a vital part of our health care teams. Simply put – patients do not move through the healthcare system without receiving excellent care from one or more Allied Health Professionals.

We know that there are still many challenges facing the health care system today, but despite that, all of you remain committed to providing the best care possible to the patients, clients and residents you serve.

As we start engagement on identifying and actioning strategies to improve wait times with the Lower Wait Times and System Improvement Team and the ED Implementation Support Team stationed at Grace Hospital, we know it’s important for your perspective to be included.

Allied Health Professionals have a wealth of experience and knowledge and we want your voice to be heard as we work towards a better, more sustainable health care system. We are here to listen.

We have a collection of stories featuring just a few of your colleagues who are an essential part of the care teams providing support to patients, clients and residents throughout our system.

We also asked staff across the system to recognize their Allied Health colleagues who are making a difference in the workplace and to those they care for. You can read some of the inspiring submissions here.

We are proud to work alongside our allied health staff, and truly appreciate your unwavering support in the delivery of patient, resident and client care. Thank you for your contributions and commitment to excellent care.

Sincerely,

Stephen Diakow
