Potential Work Stoppage of CUPE Community & Facility Bargaining Units
Updated October 7, 2024
Manitoba’s health service delivery organizations are preparing for a potential work stoppage. The strike action, which would begin October 8, 2024 at 6:00 a.m. if no deal is reached, may impact health care services throughout much of the province.
Community and Facility Support Workers in the Winnipeg Health Region will be affected by a work stoppage.
While talks continue, planning is underway to limit disruption to patients, residents and clients.
Essential Service Agreements are being finalized in each affected area. These agreements between the employer and the union, are intended to ensure ongoing access to vital priority health services.
It is likely, however, that a strike will disrupt other health services.
