Artbeat Studio Inc.
FEATURES
Program Features:
Founded in 2004, Artbeat Studio is Manitoba’s first organization of its kind, inspired by one family’s journey with mental illness. Nigel Bart, the founder and former facilitator of Artbeat Studio (now retired), was diagnosed with schizophrenia at 19 and turned to art as a means of recovery and coping with stigma. His family, recognizing the therapeutic value of the arts, established Artbeat Studio to extend these mental health benefits to others. Their mission is toprovide studio space and connections that promote mental health through creative expression.
They offer the following programs:
- Artbeat Studio Artist-in-Residence Core Program (also called Artist Residency)
- Studio Central, Urban Arts Centre (Community Drop-in and Programming)
- Upbeat Artworks, Gallery Boutique (Social Enterprise)
