New Employee Orientation 2021
|
Hello and Happy New Year!
We kick off 2021 with many hopes for better days ahead where we can once again come together in person in our work and in our personal lives, but we remain heavily dependent on technology for the foreseeable future to make those connections.
How timely is it then, that the New Employee Orientation, or NEO21, arrived as a tool for hiring managers!
NEO21 is an onboarding program launching this month, January 2021, and it is offered entirely online.
This resource allows new hires to review a welcome page full of important information for new employees spanning from parking to payroll. It also offers LMS course bundles to ensure staff are up to date on professional practices, courses related to their professional fields as well as universal items like PHIA and Respectful Workplaces.
These important resources help to engage and guide our new employees as they begin their careers with the WRHA and lead up to a shorter in-person orientation sessions (that are still being held virtually at this time).
The online resources offered by NEO21 allow the in-person orientation session to be more engaging and inviting for new employees with more interaction between participants and presenters and less housekeeping-type items to review. Additionally, this has allowed the WRHA corporate and community orientation to be streamlined into a half-day facilitated session which focuses on the organizations’ mission, vision, values and culture as well as a union presentation.
This tool is an important one for all hiring managers to help improve engagement with new, incoming staff, to provide them with more robust support as they begin their careers with us and to support our own metrics as NEO21 has built-in SAP reporting for completed LMS modules!
I invite you to take a closer look at our Welcome Page and to take the Manager’s Course to set you and your future employees up for success.
If you have questions about the new tool please don’t hesitate to connect directly with Susan Hologroski or Stefanie Pielahn.
We are excited about this new tool that ushers us into the 21st century of employee engagement and that electronic resource could not have come at a better time. While we are all looking forward to meeting with our staff, new and existing, in person down the line – NEO21 will help to support our new staff both during these virtual times as well as into the future when we are able to meet with them, more regularly, in person.
Thank you,
Brent Kreller, Interim Chief Human Resources Officer
