It has been a focus of our regional Code Blue training to assist care providers to quickly communicate pertinent information in a potentially life-threatening situation. It is also encouraged in other situations, such as patient handover (e.g. shift change, transfers, discharges) and when communicating within the interdisciplinary team to help effectively form the information being shared and relay a request for action.
