Staff Appreciation & Recognition (StAR) Program
The WRHA StAR Program is an HR-lead initiative committed to meeting the WRHA Vision “We will be an organization of staff who are proud of their work and are recognized, respected and rewarded”. The StAR team is continually developing new programs and enhancing existing programs to make the WRHA a great place to work.
The StAR Program continues to increase the variety of discounts being offered to ALL health care employees working for the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and its partner facilities, programs and agencies. There are numerous discounts offered from various services within and around Winnipeg ranging from fitness facilities, restaurants to entertainment.

Service Recognition Programs
Effective January 1, 2016
A fund was established to recognize the retirement farewells of eligible regional employees at the time of their retirement. This fund will provide teams the opportunity to celebrate an employee's contribution in a timely way, while honouring the relationships that are closest to them

Long Service Program
WRHA values the dedication of long service employees and recognizes the organizational benefits and valued expertise they provide. In appreciation of the commitment, recognition and awards will be presented as specific long service milestones are attained commencing at 15 years and in five-year increments thereafter. Long service awards will be presented annually in the fall to all eligible employees who reach a long service milestone in the current calendar year, January 1 to December 31. Award envelopes for employees reaching 15 & 20 years of service will be distributed through coordination with managers for presentation individually. Award envelopes for employees with 25-plus years of service will be presented at a dinner reception.
Save the Date: Long Service Awards Dinner Reception for 25 – 50 years of service will be held on November 8, 2023 at the RBC Convention Centre, York Ballroom (South Building).
Invitations will be sent in September to all that qualify.
Eligible employees are employed in a position with:
- Community Health Services (1003)
- Corporate/Regional Services (1002)
- Pan Am Clinic (1001)
- Medical Remuneration (1004) employees.
