Employee Assistance Program

The WRHA recognizes that health care workers may experience challenges and stresses in their personal and professional lives.

The following supports are available to employees requiring assistance for these situations.

Human Resources / Occupational Health

Employees experiencing difficulties should consider contacting Human Resources personnel, including Occupational Health Services (where available), to seek assistance. Where appropriate, these professionals will provide you with support and/or refer you to available supports in the system.

Critical Incident Stress Management

A Critical Incident (CI) is an unexpected and powerful event that falls beyond one’s usual experience. It has the potential to overwhelm one’s usual coping mechanisms, resulting in psychological distress. It can interfere with an individual’s ability to function normally. Some people describe it as a life-changing crisis.
