Registered Psychiatric Nurse
The College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba identifies that Registered Psychiatric Nurses are a critical component of Manitoba’s psychiatric and mental health services delivery system.
Registered psychiatric nurses provide services to individuals whose care needs relate to mental, physical and developmental health while recognizing the complex relationships between emotional, developmental, physical and mental health and the role of social factors, culture and spiritually in illness and recovery.
Right now in the Region, the majority of registered psychiatric nurses work within Mental Health Programs. Registered psychiatric nurses are also employed in Personal Care Homes, Rehabilitation and Geriatric settings and Emergency departments.
