Registered Nurse
Registered nurses make up the largest group of health care providers in Canada, Manitoba, and Winnipeg. Registered nurse is a professional designation that reflects an individual has met the requirements for practicing registration.
The College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba notes the Registered Nurses Act defines the practice of registered nursing as:
“the application of nursing knowing, skill and judgment to promote, maintain and restore health, prevent illness and alleviate suffering.”
Registered nurses work in a variety of capacities throughout the Region: direct care, education, administration and research.
