Chantal
Grace Hospital (Clinical Educator ICU)
What I like most about my job is the opportunity to make a difference in a very meaningful way. We often see patients and families on some of the worst days of their lives. It is rewarding to see the positive impact of sharing words of encouragement with patients and listening to their stories with care. Helping people is at the heart of what we do as nurses, even if it is simply to offer a kind smile or directions to a visitor who is lost. Working closely with others, and pulling together develops close bonds between colleagues. Overcoming challenges together is much more rewarding that individual success. It is the team-approach that drew me to nursing, and it is the patients that keep me here.
