Manitoba Association for Safety in Healthcare Certification logo

The Manitoba Association for Safety in Health Care (MASH)  is a specialized organization focused on improving workplace safety standards in Manitoba’s healthcare sector. MASH operates as the province’s industry-based safety program (IBSP), specifically tailored for healthcare environments. Its mission is to empower healthcare workers and organizations to create safer workplaces, aiming to reduce preventable injuries through certification programs, safety training, and consulting services.

The certification program is called Safe Work Certification (also known as MASH Certification), which is achieved through an audit. The audit assesses various aspects of the workplace, such as the violence prevention program infection control, hazard management, and overall working conditions, to ensure that staff are working in a safe environment. This staff safety and health benchmark identifies areas that need improvement and implements necessary changes, ultimately contributing to and enhancing the safety culture and creating a safer, more compliant workplace for healthcare professionals.
